The ideal base to explore Islay, step outside any of Bowmore’s cottages and within 5 minutes you could be:
  • On the beach or at the harbour.
  • In one of the great pubs, restaurants or shops.
  • Using the local swimming pool whose water is heated by Bowmore’s distilling process.
  • Hiring a bike and heading off around the island.
  • Standing in Bowmore’s round church, built as such so that the Devil has no corners in which to hide.
  • Walking across the open countryside.
  • Visiting the distillery, having a complimentary dram and looking round the shop.
Venture a little further round the island and you could be golfing, horseriding, fishing or visiting the Museum of Islay Life, or you could just be sitting watching the Atlantic breakers on one of Islay’s gorgeous white sandy beaches.
